2 Collection of material

10-12 hours before collection of material for analysis, it is not recommended to give a child various medications, among them:

• antibiotics;
• laxatives;
• various kinds of vitaminized supplements;
• sorbents;
• probiotics.

The recommended time for collecting samples for analysis is the morning. Before the procedure, the baby should empty the bladder in order to prevent mixing of urine and stool, after which the baby should be washed.

Stool collection is made from a clean, disinfected container in a sterile container or purchased in a pharmacy container. The required amount of material for the study is no more than 8-10 ml of feces( 1-2 tsp).If any clods or impurities are visually observed during the collection of the material for the study, they must also be collected and placed in a container for analysis.

3 Stimulating act of bowel movement in a baby

To stimulate defecation in an infant, it is recommended to turn it over the tummy or do a light massage. To ensure that the child does not experience discomfort from the massage, the hand should be warm, smooth and dry. Do not put a warm water bottle or various warming compresses on the feces of the feces before the feces.

If the baby for some reason can not empty the bowels or suffers from constipation, it is recommended to stimulate the anus. For these purposes, a gas pipe is used. In the laboratory, the material obtained is sown under special conditions, without the presence of oxygen, and after 7 days the doctor, having obtained the result, sees the ratio of different types of bacteria in the intestinal tract in the child. For each age group, there are their own average standards that take into account the child's eating habits and the existing or transferred diseases.

The analysis of feces for dysbacteriosis is an effective method for diagnosing the imbalance of a set of beneficial bacteria in the intestine. But in some cases, the described pathology is not the main one and to detect the source of infection it is necessary to conduct a series of complex studies at equal intervals.
