What is angina
Angina is an acute infectious disease of the pharynx, which is accompanied by inflammation of the elements of the so-called pharyngeal lymphatic ring. Most often, tonsillitis occurs - inflammation of the tonsils.
How does angina occur?
As a rule, infection occurs by airborne droplets from a person who is sick with an acute viral or bacterial disease of the upper respiratory tract. By itself, the function of the lymphatic tissue is to protect the entire body from possible threats. Therefore, the tonsils are the first to come into contact with microbes and viral particles that have entered the oral cavity. Local immunity cells analyze how dangerous they are. Then the "messengers" are sent to other departments of the immune system, and there begins the preparation of special cells capable of destroying uninvited guests. It takes about 7 days for the body to complete this activity, during this time there is no specific protection, therefore it is important to maintain immunity already in the early stages of the disease.
What happens to the body during a sore throat
Infectious agents caught in us affect the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, the oral cavity and cause inflammation. In this case, viruses or bacteria actively multiply, their growth before the maturation of specific antibodies is restrained by the forces of local specific immunity.
