Kagocel - domestic medicinal product, which is produced in the form of tablets. The active substance of the drug, under the same name "Kagocel", promotes the production of interferon, which has destructive activity against viruses, prevents the onset of the development of tumors and helps to strengthen the immune system.
The listed properties of the drug are used to treat a wide range of viral diseases and prevent their development. Kagocel does not belong to cheap drugs, therefore it is often replaced with analogues.

Domestic and imported analogues of the product
Kagocel and its analogs are cheaper, the list of which will be presented in this article, and are mainly used to eliminate viral pathologies.
These medicines can only be selected and prescribed by a doctor.
Ingavirin
Kagocel and its analogs are cheaper (the list of substitutes can be checked with the pharmacist and doctor) are usually dispensed without a prescription. Substitute Ingavirin is a domestic medication (like the original), which is produced in the form of capsules with different dosages of the main element (60 and 90 mg).
The active substance (pentanedioic acid imidazolylethanamide) has anti-inflammatory, antiviral and immunomodulatory activity. The therapeutic effect of the analogue is noted approximately 30 minutes after administration (in the original, after 4 hours) and persists throughout the day (Kagocel acts for another 5 days, after the end of taking the tablets).
Indications for the use of a substitute have a slight difference from Kagocel, both drugs use:
- when diagnosing a viral infection or to prevent its development;
- to eliminate the flu and prevent its development.
But Kagocel is additionally prescribed for the treatment of herpes, provided that the disease is mild. When choosing Ingavirin capsules, it should be borne in mind that contraindications to its intake differ when compared with Kagocel.

According to age restrictions, Kagocel is more convenient, since it is allowed to use it in childhood.
Due to the different active elements, the dosage and course of treatment with drugs is different. Ingavirin should be taken in 1 capsule (the dosage of capsules depends on age) for 5-7 days.
In total, no more than 7 capsules are spent during the course of treatment. Whereas Kagocel needs to be taken for only 4 days, but this course of treatment is required (considered an adult dosage) 18 tablets (2 tablets 3 times a day for 2 days, and 1 tablet 3 times a day 2 more days). In this regard, treatment with Ingavirin is cheaper than the original.
Taking Kagocel and Ingavirin can only cause the development of an allergic reaction, which can manifest itself as rashes, suffocation. Therefore, even with a mild form of allergy, medication should be discontinued.
Cases of overdose (analogue and Kagocel) were not recorded, but it is possible (with the use of a large number of tablets / capsules) the development of abdominal pain, the appearance of vomiting. Requires gastric lavage and drinking plenty of fluids. Manipulations are typical for poisoning with any of the drugs in question.
Kagocel and Ingavirin can be purchased without a prescription. Important. Ingavirin and Kagocel should not be combined with other antiviral drugs and alcoholic beverages.
Rimantadin
An analogue of Rimantadine is produced by companies in Latvia and Russia in the form of tablets (containing 50 mg of the main component) and capsules (containing only 100 g of the active substance). For comparison, Kagocel is produced only in the form of tablets with a single concentration of the main component.
The main substance of the substitute, under the same name rimantadine, has a pronounced antiviral effect. The therapeutic effect of Rimantadine is observed approximately one day after taking the drug and lasts up to 3 days. The advantage of the product is its lower price, the disadvantage is a wider list of contraindications.
Prescriptions for the use of Rimantadine are slightly different when compared with Kagocel. Rimantadine is used in the treatment and prevention of influenza (Kagocel is also prescribed for these pathologies), and also used to prevent the development of encephalitis after a tick bite (Kagocel for these purposes is not apply).
Additionally, Kagocel is used for viral diseases (and their prevention) and in the treatment of herpes.
Contraindications to the appointment of Rimantadine also differ from Kagocel:

Rimantadine is allowed to be used from 3 to 7 years old, but provided that the child is in the hospital, at home, the use of the drug at this age is strictly prohibited.
When prescribing an analogue, it is required to take it for 4 days with a dosage according to age. The regimen is similar to Kagocel, but when using the original, adults need 18 tablets for the course, and when using Rimantadine, 8 capsules (or 16 tablets) are enough.
At the same time, the use of Rimantadine, in contrast to the original, which can only cause the development of an allergic reaction, may be accompanied by:
- pain in the stomach;
- weight loss of the patient;
- bloating;
- nausea;
- impaired liver function;
- increased dry mouth;
- headaches;
- increased nervousness, excitability;
- the development of causeless anxiety;
- sleep disturbance. It can manifest itself as insomnia and drowsiness;
- deterioration in concentration.
The development of allergies is also possible to the composition of Rimantadine capsules / tablets.
In case of poisoning with Rimantadine, more dangerous symptoms are noted (with an overdose of Kagocel, only abdominal pain and vomiting are present):
- profuse vomiting;
- pronounced metallic taste;
- the development of panic, delirium and hallucinations;
- severe disruption of the liver.
In case of poisoning with both medicines, gastric lavage is prescribed, and sorbents are taken. Further, therapy is used according to the symptoms that arise. You can buy an analogue without a prescription.
Important! Rimantadine should not be taken simultaneously with sorbents, drugs that envelop the organs of the digestive tract, paracetamol, as well as aspirin and antiepileptic drugs. Whereas Kagocel is not prescribed simultaneously only with other antiviral medicines.
Arbidol
Kagocel and its analogs are cheaper (the list of substitutes may include domestic and foreign medicines), it is recommended to use it during the period of colds for prophylactic purposes. Arbidol substitute, produced by Italy and Russia, is produced in the form of capsules with the content of the main element of 50 and 100 mg, as well as in the form of tablets with the concentration of the active element 50 mg.
The main component (umifenovir) has an antiviral effect and also helps to strengthen the immune system. The therapeutic effect after taking Arbidol is noted in an hour and lasts for 20 hours. For comparison, Kagocel acts 4 hours after consumption, and retains its therapeutic effect for up to 5 days.

Contraindications for the appointment of Arbidol are similar to Kagocel, that is, the agent is not used for:
- high susceptibility to composition;
- the patient's age is up to 3 years;
- pregnancy (conditional restrictions, since the effect of the drug on the fetus has not been studied);
- breast-feeding.
In the 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy, it is allowed to use Arbidol, but under very strict medical supervision.
Taking Arbidol for therapeutic purposes is required 4 times per knock for 5 days. The dosage is adjusted according to age. For comparison, when taking the course for adults, Kagocel requires 18 tablets, and Arbidol 80 tablets or 40 capsules with a dosage of 100 mg. The use of the drug Arbidol can cause the development of allergies (other side effects have not been registered, as with Kagocel).
No cases of analog overdose have been identified. But it is possible that in case of poisoning, the development of abdominal pain and vomiting. Standard first aid measures are required (gastric lavage and intake of activated charcoal).
You can buy Arbidol (both in capsules and tablets) without a prescription. Important! The interaction of Arbidol with other drugs has not been identified, therefore, only a doctor can prescribe a medication in combination treatment.
Nobazit
Kagocel and its analogues are cheaper (the list of all drugs can be checked with the attending physician) it is recommended to start using it from the first days of the development of the disease, then the effectiveness of medicines is higher. Substitute Nobazit is a domestic drug and is available in the form of tablets.
The main element (enisamia iodide) has an antiviral effect and reduces the severity of intoxication from the vital activity of viruses (manifested by severe headache, high fever and general malaise).
The therapeutic effect is noted approximately 2 hours after the use of the medication and lasts up to 14 hours. The therapeutic effect of Kagocel is longer (up to 5 days).
Nobazit is prescribed for diagnosing a viral infection, as well as for preventing the development of ARVI during the period of colds. Kagocel, in contrast to its analogue, is additionally used in the treatment of influenza, as well as for the elimination of “simple” herpes.

For contraindications, Kagocel is more affordable than its counterpart. Take Nobazit for therapeutic purposes, 2 tablets 3 times a day for 5-7 days. The full course of treatment requires 30 to 42 tablets. Kagocel 18 tablets are enough for the course.
When a doctor prescribes an analogue, it should be borne in mind that taking pills may be accompanied by the following list of negative body reactions:
- itching, Quincke's edema, skin rashes and other signs of allergies;
- bitter taste in the mouth and dryness (in the mouth);
- the development of edema of the mucous membranes in the oral cavity;
- increased production of secretion from the salivary glands;
- staining of the mucous membranes of the mouth in yellow (mainly the tongue);
- nausea and heartburn;
- stomach ache;
- vomit;
- a feeling of heaviness in the liver area;
- bloating;
- the development of frequent and loose stools;
- a feeling of irritation in the throat;
- shortness of breath;
- the development of headaches, as well as dizziness;
- the appearance of surges in blood pressure;
- severe physical weakness.
For comparison, Kagocel can only cause allergies. In case of an overdose of a substitute, an increase in the listed negative reaction is noted. If poisoning is detected, emergency gastric lavage is required. Further treatment is carried out according to the general state of health of the victim. If necessary, the patient is hospitalized.

Afludol
Afludol is a domestic medicine produced in the form of tablets. The main component (umifenovir in the amount of 50 and 100 mg per tablet) has an antiviral effect, and also enhances the protective properties of the immune system.
The therapeutic effect appears 1 hour after taking the pill and lasts up to 20 hours. When using Kagocel, the therapeutic effect lasts up to 5 days, so the original is considered more effective.

Afludol, like Kagocel, is prohibited from using in the following cases:
- allergy or intolerance to the composition;
- pregnancy;
- the patient's age is less than 3 years;

Afludol tablets with a dosage of 50 g should be taken in 1-4 pcs. 4 times throughout the day, within 5 days. A single dosage depends on age. Taking Afludol, like Kagocel, can cause rashes, choking, itching and other signs of allergies. Cases of poisoning with an analogue, as well as with Kagocel, have not been registered. But if a large dose of pills is accidentally taken, the victim is required to provide standard first aid.
Afludol can be purchased without a prescription. Important! The use of an analog in combination therapy has not been studied.
Hyporamine
Analogue Hyporamine is a herbal medicine. Domestic medication is produced in the form of sublingual tablets, ointments, suppositories, as well as a lyophilisate (for the preparation of solutions for inhalation). The natural base of the product has a pronounced antiviral effect, and also has a weak antibacterial and antifungal effect.
Important. The medication has no effect on the immune system, so the drug is allowed to be taken for autoimmune diseases.
The indications for the appointment of Hyporamine are identical to the original, that is, the agent is used in the following cases:
- elimination and prevention of viral pathologies and influenza;
- herpes treatment.

The dosage of the analogue and Kagocel depends on the patient's age. In this case, the duration of treatment with a substitute is 3-5 days, the original is 4 days. The course of treatment for an adult Kagocel requires 18 tablets, and Hyporamine requires 18-30 tablets.
When taking the course, it should be borne in mind that Hyporamine can cause the development of allergies (like the original), as well as increase blood coagulation. The likelihood of developing an overdose of medicines is minimal and manifests itself in allergic symptoms. In case of poisoning, gastric lavage is prescribed.
Hyporamine belongs to the group of over-the-counter medicines. Important! The composition of Hyporamine (tablets) includes sucrose, therefore, in the presence of diabetes, the medication must be used with caution.
