Flemoxin Solutab is a drug, which has a pronounced antibacterial effect. When prescribing the drug to adults, it is necessary to strictly observe the dosages indicated in the instructions.
Individual dosages and rules for use for adults
Tablets are used in the treatment of most infectious and inflammatory diseases occurring in various organs and systems. Moreover, it is prescribed only if there is a high sensitivity of microorganisms to the active substance (amoxicillin).
The drug can also be used in the combination therapy of gastritis or gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by Helicobacter.
The medication should only be taken on the advice of your doctor.
Dosages are calculated individually, based on the form of the disease, the patient's age and other characteristics of the body or the course of the disease.
If necessary, daily or single doses can be adjusted by the attending specialist. It is not recommended to change dosages on your own.
500 mg tablets
A single dosage for adults is ½-1 tablet. The next appointment should be no earlier than 8 hours later. In case of severe pathology, the dose can be increased to 2 tablets.
The duration of the course is determined by a specialist and can vary from 1 week to 1 month.
Tablets 1000 mg
Flemoxin Solutab (dosage for adults depends not only on the form of the disorder, but also on the presence of concomitant diseases) is available in various dosages, including 1000 mg. This is one of the largest doses, so take the pills with extreme caution.
The standard adult dosage is ¼-1/2 tablet every 8 hours.
In the case of a severe infectious disease, it is recommended to take 1 tablet. The interval between doses should also be at least 8 hours.
The duration of treatment is set individually according to the form and severity of the identified disorder. In most cases, therapy should be short for no more than 7 days. However, for severe infections, treatment can be 1 month or more.
Tablets 250 mg
The dosage regimen for this dosage: 1-2 tablets every 8 hours. in the presence of a severe infectious process, it is recommended to take 3-4 tablets with an interval of at least 8 hours.
Also, with a moderate course of the disease, you can take 3-4 tablets every 12 hours.
The duration of therapy is standard - from 7 to 30 days.
Dilution of the tablet to form a syrup
Flemoxin Solutab (dosage for adults is set in each case separately) can be used to prepare other dosage forms. However, this must be previously agreed with the treating specialist.
To prepare the syrup, you need to dissolve the tablet in 30-50 ml. Stir the mixture until all inclusions and components of the product dissolve in water. In this case, the mixture itself should be slightly viscous (thick) consistency.
The syrup is taken immediately after preparation at one time. It is not recommended to prepare it in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Each new portion should be prepared immediately before consumption.
Dissolving the preparation for preparing a suspension
To prepare a suspension, you must take the dose indicated by a specialist and dissolve it in a small amount of water. Then the mixture should be thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
The ratio of water and the dose used should be selected in such a way that the tablet does not completely dissolve in water and resembles gruel (it includes some elements of the drug).
Use the product immediately after preparation. In this case, the suspension should not be additionally washed down with water or any other liquid.
Dosages for the treatment of acute uncomplicated gonorrhea
In the treatment of acute uncomplicated gonorrhea, 6 tablets (500 mg each) or 3 tablets (1000 mg each) are prescribed once. The general rate for application should not exceed 3 g. Further therapy is determined by the attending physician.
Doses for parenteral administration in adults
Flemoxin Solutab (dosage for adults can be changed during therapy if necessary) for parenteral use should be administered only by the attending physician, since improper use of the agent can lead to a deterioration in the patient's condition.
The agent is injected bypassing the gastrointestinal tract. In most cases, intramuscular or intravenous administration of the drug is used. Adults with normal renal function are prescribed 1 g of solution intramuscularly 2 times a day. When administered intravenously, it is prescribed from 2 to 12 g per day. In case of functional disorders of the kidneys, dosages, intervals and other features of the use of the drug are determined taking into account the CC (creatinine clearance).
After therapy with parenteral forms of the drug, they switch to taking tablets. This feature should be determined by the attending physician, taking into account the patient's condition.
What happens if you exceed the dosage?
If the dosage is exceeded, the patient may experience various negative reactions. This must be taken into account by all patients, especially the elderly and those with impaired renal function.
- disorders of the gastrointestinal tract - nausea, vomiting, diarrhea;
- violation of water and electrolyte balance resulting from vomiting or diarrhea);
- kidney failure caused by amoxicillin-associated crystalluria;
- convulsive state (especially in the elderly and patients taking high doses of the drug).
With the development of these signs, it is necessary to stop further therapy and consult a doctor for symptomatic treatment.
The components of the drug must be removed using hemodialysis. In this case, the patient's condition should be monitored in a hospital with constant monitoring of the level of electrolyte balance.
