Preparation Arteparon belongs to the class of chondroprotectors. In its chemical structure, it is a mucopolysaccharide polyester of sulfuric acid.
The drug suppresses the production of enzymes that destroy cartilaginous tissue, as a result, cartilages wear out more slowly, besides it restores their cells, as well as the structure of the joint bag synthesizing synovia, which improves the trophism of the cartilaginous tissue and it becomes more resistant to physical stress.
The drug is produced in ampoules of 1 ml, intended for intramuscular, periarticular and intra-articular use. For 5 or 10 ampoules in a carton.

Pharmacological effect
Arteparon is a synthetic analogue of cartilage mucopolysaccharides, therefore, getting into the body, it quickly migrates to the affected joint, where it prevents the destruction of its basic substance due to competitive inhibition of enzymes that decompose proteoglycan.
In addition, the active substance stops inflammation, normalizes hemorheological properties of blood, lowers the level of lipids in the systemic bloodstream, dissolves blood clots, improves vascular permeability, restores damaged connective and cartilaginous tissue, lubricity of synovia.
Due to the fact that the volume of synovial fluid increases, pain syndrome decreases, the amplitude of active and passive movements of the facet, knee and hip joints, and shoulder joints increases. Slows down the progression of the disease, reduces the number of relapses.
Scope of application
Injections Arteparon is prescribed for the following pathologies ODA: 
- osteochondrosis;
- arthrosis of small, knee and hip joints;
- osteoarthritis of the spine;
- knee joint chondromalacia;
- humeroscapular periarthrosis;

What is the contraindication for injections?
Drug injections should be discarded if observed:
Individual intolerance;
- insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus;
- hemorrhagic syndrome;
- arterial hypertension;
- acute myocardial infarction;
- diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in the stage of exacerbation;
- renal and hepatic insufficiency;
- protracted endocarditis;
- before and after surgery;
- when threatened with miscarriage;
- during delivery;
- apoplexy;
- heart and lung infarction;
- allergy to heparin and its analogs( due to the risk of cross-sensitization);
- pregnancy;
- breast-feeding;
- age is less than 15 years.
It is forbidden to do injections of Arteparon on the background of treatment with heparin and its analogues.
Possible adverse reactions
In some patients, usually after the first injection, the appearance of painful skin irritations, tumors, bruises and hemorrhagic hemorrhages. Sometimes sensitization is possible.
Her first symptoms:
- headache;
- tachycardia;
- nausea;
- dyspnea;
- hyperhidrosis.
They may occur a few minutes or hours after the injection. Because of the danger of shock, you must immediately stop treatment.

Currently, not one case of drug overdose has been reported. The antidote of Arteparon is sulfate and protamine hydrochloride.
Dosage regimen
Before starting therapy, a reduced dose( 0.3 ml) of the drug should be administered to check how the drug is transferred.
Intramuscularly slowly do 1 ml 2 times a week with 3 4-day intervals for 7-8 weeks( course 15 injections).
After the main course of therapy, to fix the therapeutic effect achieved, it is advisable to conduct separate injections at intervals of one or several weeks.
You can make intraarticular injections. In the knee cap, inject 0.5-1 ampoules of the drug 2 times every 7 days for 5 weeks( 10 injections).The interval between the next infusion should be at least 3-4 days. Further maintenance therapy is the same as with the / m injections.
Periarticular injections are made into the tissue of the capsule 2 times a week, for 2-3 weeks. The interval between injections should be 3-4 days. At a time, you can enter only 1 ml, even when treating several joints.
Repeated treatment is possible after 3-4 months. In acute inflammation in the joints before the start of treatment, prescribe an NSAID.
Therapy of special patient groups
It is not necessary to prescribe a drug during pregnancy, as there is no reliable data on the effect of the active substance on the fetus.
It is not known whether the active principle is excreted through the mammary glands, therefore during lactation it is necessary to temporarily transfer the babe to the mixture.
Injections do not make children under 15 years old, because they do not know how they affect their health.
Drug Interaction
With concomitant administration with anticoagulants, there is a high likelihood of bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract.
For mixed use with Tetracaine and solutions of other local anesthetics, which concentration is more than 1%, precipitate may precipitate.
Alcoholic beverages do not affect the action of the drug.
