Recurrence of varicocele

Varicocele is a purely male disease. It is expressed in varicose veins near the spermatic cord. At the beginning of the disease, a man does not experience any symptoms, the disease begins to manifest itself later. The reason to consult a doctor is the appearance of pain in the scrotum, not only when walking, but also in a lying position. The varicocele syndrome is a complication after the operation, during which varicose veins on the testicles were eliminated.

Untimely treatment of a doctor threatens with serious complications:

  • Possibility of infertility;
  • Emerging pain in the scrotum;
  • Ischemia of the testicles;
  • The emergence of problems in intimate life, decreased potency.

The causes of varicocele

Varicocele is one of the most common diseases of the male genitourinary system. The disease appears for two reasons:

  1. Congenital vascular wall defect. It occurs in most cases because of a genetic predisposition. Most likely, someone from relatives had varicose veins of lower extremities and other diseases, the cause of which was a lack of connective tissue in the body.

  2. Constant increased blood pressure in the pelvic area. This can occur when performing physical exertion, chronic constipation, etc. In these cases, the ovarian vein is intertwined with other vessels, bends and becomes uneven.

Blood flows through the vessels of the scrotum towards the heart, against gravity. In a healthy organism, the reverse movement of blood is prevented by a special valve located on the venous wall. With venous enlargement, the valves stop performing their function, and the blood begins to perform pendular movements. Blood flows slow down, and the sexual organs begin to receive less blood. The less the blood enters the scrotum, the less oxygen it receives from its tissues. Gradually, the eggs are heated.

Nature has arranged a male body in such a way that the temperature of the testicles by several degrees should be colder than the temperature of the whole body. At varikotsele the temperature is compared, and it threatens with serious consequences.

Most often the disease affects the left testicle, there is less bilateral disease. On the right varicocele practically does not develop. Doctors distinguish 4 degrees of disease:

  1. Vein enlargement is detected only in a standing position.
  2. Seed canal varicose can only be detected by ultrasound.
  3. Enlarged veins are found in a sitting and standing position.
  4. Expanded veins stand out from the scrotum and are visible without special equipment.

The disease occurs most often during puberty, and rarely passes from one stage of development to another.

Symptoms of the disease

Many men do not even suspect that they have varicocele. The disease can be asymptomatic and can be detected already in the event of complications, for example, infertility. Some representatives of the male complain of pain in the scrotum, the appearance of unpleasant sensations. Pain syndrome is not permanent, pain occurs after sexual intercourse, physical activity, long sitting on a chair. Patients describe the pain sensation as a heaviness in the scrotum, without sharp lumbago.

Diagnosis

The first degree of the disease can be present in a person all his life, and he will not guess about its availability. The first degree can be revealed only by chance, since infertility a man will not suffer. Starting with the second degree, the doctor may determine the presence of varicocele when examined.

An additional method of diagnosis will be ultrasound. Ultrasound examination is performed in the standing or lying position. Dopplerography will show the most accurate result of the study. In addition to the listed studies, a man needs to make a spermogram.

Treatment of

The only way to get rid of the disease is surgery. If the patient is offered a drug-based solution to the problem - most likely it is simply luring money. If the disease is in the first and second degree, most likely, the man does not detect symptoms, and will lead a normal lifestyle. If the disease is in the third and fourth stage, pain is present, the man has problems with potency and conception - surgical intervention can not be avoided.

Operative intervention is of two types:

  1. Varicose veins are completely removed. The blood flowed slowly before the operation, and after the removal the blood supply was completely stopped. In this case, the bloodstream begins to look for new ways, and most often they are on the surface of the scrotum. The advantages of this type of operation include low cost, rapid recovery. But there is one big disadvantage - the possibility of recurrence varicocele. The testicle ceases to receive the necessary volume of blood and its functionality is sharply reduced. In this case, the risk of infertility increases.
  2. Microsurgical organ revascularization. The essence of the operation is as follows: the enlarged vein is removed and an artificial vein of plastic is placed in its place. The blood supply is restored, and the testicle functions normally. The disadvantages of this type include the high cost of the procedure and a long recovery in the hospital. The plus is getting a completely healthy body.

The choice of operation depends on the patient's condition and financial capabilities. If a man is diagnosed as having an age, when he no longer plans to have children and is not disturbed by the symptoms of varicose veins in the canal, surgery can be avoided. In any case, treatment varicocele requires an individual approach to each patient.

Reasons for recurrence of varicocele

The dilated veins of the canal are surgically removed. During the surgical intervention, the doctor, using special equipment, examines not only the main vessel, but its branches, and blocks them. In this case there is a high probability that complications in the form of recurrence varicocele will not occur. The operation should be performed on high-precision equipment by a competent specialist.

If, during surgery, the surgeon looks at the vein discrepancies - a relapse of the disease is possible. Endoscopic equipment allows you to view the passing vessels in detail before the operation and thereby reduce the risk of complications. Unfortunately not all clinics are equipped with high-tech equipment, and then the patient can only hope for the qualification of a doctor.
