2 Composition and Form of Release

The drug is based on two active components: hesperidin and diosmin. It diosmin and refers to the group of venotonic and angioprotector. Due to its effect, such manifestations of the disease as pain, swelling, redness and inflammation in general are reduced.

The action of hesperidin is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of diosmin, improving the condition of the venous and capillary walls, eliminating the sensation of itching and burning accompanying the disease, and at the same time reducing the risk of bleeding.

Unlike other drugs, which are most often produced in the form of suppositories for topical application, detralex is presented in the form of tablets. Tablets are released from hemorrhoids Detralex in an orange-pink shell, inside having a light yellow hue. The form of the tablets is oval, with a non-uniform structure. Each tablet contains 450 mg of the active ingredient diosmin and 50 mg hesperidin. Each blister contains fifteen tablets. There are packages containing two and four blisters each.

3 Assignment and dosage of

Although this medication is prescribed, usually with the diagnosis of acute or chronic hemorrhoids, but this is not its only indication. In case of acute hemorrhoids, detralex should be taken in considerable daily doses: three tablets in the morning and the same in the evening for four days. After that, for three more days, the number of tablets is reduced to two pieces at a time, while still maintaining the frequency of taking the medicine.

Take the pill with food or immediately after eating. This helps to reduce the negative effect of the drug on the gastric mucosa.

The first effect from the use of detralex is already evident during the first day of taking the medication.

After seven days, the number of tablets taken decreases to two pieces per day. The same dosage( two tablets per day) is prescribed for the treatment of chronic hemorrhoids. However, after seven days the doctor can allow to reduce the intake of tablets once a day( immediately after breakfast), keeping the dosage in the amount of two tablets. The general course of reception Detralexa is from thirty to forty-five days.

5 Contraindications and side effects of

Although the drug is well tolerated by most patients, nevertheless, some patients( less than 1%) may experience side effects. Although their occurrence does not require withdrawal of the drug, and the negative reactions themselves often occur within a short period of time( one to three days), nevertheless, one should be aware of such symptoms. In rare cases Detralex can provoke the appearance of dizziness, headache, insomnia, nausea or disruption of the work of the digestive tract.

The drug is contraindicated in case of individual intolerance to the components. Therefore, if an allergic reaction is detected, this medication should be discontinued.
