When treating joint diseases in children, osteochondropathy is the most common disease, it is a degenerative-dystrophic process in the spongy substance of long tubular bones.
This disease manifests itself mainly in childhood and adolescence. There is a disease as a result of the alleged circulatory disorder of the child's blood. As a result, the nutrition of the bone is broken, necrosis is manifested in the area of the spongy substance, which is characterized by resorption of the bones of the joints. Restoration of tissues after the disease can be either complete or partial.
Also another not less common disease among children is the leggy-Calve-Perthes pathology .This is necrosis of the head of the femur, which is a form of osteochondropathy.
The disease passes through the stages:
- , the first stage passes with practically no visible changes;
- the second stage was called the compression fracture. At this stage of the disease, the head of the joint bone has some obscurations, it is devoid of structure, and the gap between the joints is somewhat enlarged;
- at the third stage there is a resorption of the necrotic masses, and a new spongy tissue is also formed. At the same time, fragmentation of the head is observed, the shadow of which is somewhat thickened, the neck of the thigh is slightly shortened, and the gap between the joints is significantly enlarged;
- the fourth stage is the stage of repair, in which the shadow of the head becomes clear, but the shape does not correspond to the previous dimensions;
- , the fifth stage is the last final phase of the disease, on which the sponge is regenerated, in which the head of the bone is clearly outlined, in this case it becomes cylindrical or mushroom-shaped, and the neck of the thigh is thickened or shortened most often.
Any stage of the disease combines all the symptoms of inflammation, which are characterized by varying acute pains. The average duration of the pathology is 1.5-2.5 years. The pathology itself develops gradually. Pain sensations are replaced by periodic pain, while the main source of pain is the knee.
It becomes painful for a person to walk, therefore, his gait gradually changes. There is a shortening in the size of the legs and hands, noticeable lameness becomes noticeable, and on the healthy side of the leg appears the sagging of the gluteal fold .
