Treatment of varicose during lactation

The arsenal of modern phlebology has a sufficient number of methods for treating varicose veins.

Women with varicose during breast-feeding can get a serious complication - thrombophlebitis( inflammation of the vein walls with the formation of a thrombus).

The veins become inflamed with inflammation, the skin turns red, the temperature of the affected area increases.

Treatment is carried out in a hospital.

Patient required:

  • thorough care;
  • bed rest;
  • padding under the feet;
  • use of antibiotics;
  • use of anti-inflammatory drugs( acetylsalicylic acid, butadione, esk-zan);
  • pain relievers.

Drugs that have anti-coagulant properties( anticoagulants) can be prescribed no earlier than three days after the birth because there is a risk of uterine bleeding.

Drug treatment methods can not lead to the complete disappearance of varicose veins, but can significantly alleviate the condition of the patient.

With conservative treatment methods, the following actions should be taken:

  • to eliminate risk factors;
  • to administer medications( detralex, trental, pen-toxifylline, pentylline, agapurin);
  • use medicinal gels and ointments( lyoton-gel, heparin ointment);
  • to conduct physiotherapy courses;
  • wear compression stockings;
  • doing massage;
  • to practice therapeutic gymnastics.

Therapeutic gymnastics includes such exercises: "bicycle";transfer of body weight from sock to heel;exercise on a stationary bicycle or cycling;daily walks.

When breastfeeding a child, you can only treat conservative treatment of varicose veins, and surgical operations can only be allowed after the lactation period.
