Prostate adenoma cancer most often occurs in older men( 50-60 years).
In young people, it is extremely rare. An exception can be considered prostate sarcoma. This rare disease occurs in young men and even in very young children. This process is usually associated with the embryonic origin of the tumor.
Symptoms of prostate cancer
Clinical symptoms, characteristic only for prostate cancer, are absent.
Symptoms of this type of disease include:
- rapid urination( especially at night);
- difficulty urinating;
- feeling of incomplete bladder release.
But these same symptoms are also characteristic for prostate adenoma, both for hypertrophy, and for senile urinary incontinence.
At the initial stages of the development of the disease, it is very difficult to distinguish these diseases, it is almost impossible.
Only with the passage of time, with cancer, hematuria and bladder pain( from tumor growth) are detected. In parallel, cachexia may develop( increasing weight loss of the body).
Treatment of prostate cancer
It is possible to apply radial treatment by surgical methods only in the early stages and with a small localization of the tumor process.
To my great regret, only about 10% of prostate cancer can be cured with a surgical procedure. In this case, radical prostatectomy is used.
In advanced stages of the disease, the tumor is almost inoperable. That is why patients with stage III-IV prostate cancer are recommended to completely remove the testicles.
Treatment with the help of the hormone synestrel is widely used. The course of treatment is very long( many months).This hormone therapy helps patients get rid of painful pain when urinating.
Palliative( facilitating the patient's condition, but not curing), the value is taken by radiotherapy of the prostate gland. Radiation has a positive effect on the sexual activity of the patient.
There are four stages in the development of prostate cancer:
- I - the diagnosis can only be established by accident, there are no clinical manifestations;
- II - the diagnosis is established with a biopsy. When rectal examination, you can find a tight knot;
- III - biopsy confirms the diagnosis. The tumor covers the seminal vesicles, the lateral walls of the pelvis, the base of the bladder;
- IV - the tumor reaches a large size, with pronounced disorders of the urinary system. A characteristic feature is the presence of metastases.
Prophylaxis of prostate cancer
An exact answer is not yet known.
In any case, do not use the same drugs for prevention as for treatment.
It is understood that early detection of the disease is required for successful treatment. This can be greatly facilitated by an annual preventive rectal examination. If there is any doubt, you can additionally carry out a small pelvic ultrasound.
In addition:
- it is desirable to exclude the use of chocolate and coffee;
- to limit the use of salt, potatoes, legumes, nuts;
- reduce the intake of animal fat.
