Modern methods of treating tonsillitis

It can be both acute (angina) and chronic. Traditional methods of treating tonsillitis are antibiotic therapy with rinsing the throat with antiseptic solutions, and in severe forms, tonsillectomy. But science does not stand still and every day offers new ways to treat this pathology.

Modern methods of treating tonsillitis

Typically, acute tonsillitis is treated with antibiotics. The task of such therapy is to prevent the transition of angina to chronic tonsillitis. To do this, antibiotics must be powerful, but at the same time cause the least harm to the patient's body. Based on this, the newest antibacterial drugs appear in modern medicine with minimal side effects and with a selective effect on the pathogenic microflora of the oral cavity, leading to angina or exacerbation of chronic tonsillitis.

Chronic tonsillitis is characterized by more complex pathophysiological processes occurring in the tissues of the palatine tonsil. With long-term existing inflammatory processes in these tissues, healthy tissue begins to grow, hypertrophy, taking on an additional function. From this, the tonsils increase in volume and the natural outflow of mucus is disturbed in them, which leads to the stagnation of the contents of the lacunae, the formation of toxic substances in them and the reproduction of pathogenic microflora. At the same time, both local and general immunity suffers, since most of the white blood cells are spent on a chronic inflammatory process in the tonsils.

Modern methods of treating chronic tonsillitis take into account the above-described pathogenesis and act on it in various ways aimed at:

  • sanitation of the contents of the lacunae of the palatine tonsils;
  • improvement of the regenerative abilities of tonsil tissues;
  • fight against various pathogenic organisms.

WashingMethods such as ultrasonic vacuum drainage and hydrovacuum aspiration can be used to sanitize the tonsils. Ultrasound causes the contents of the lacunae to liquefy, and negative pressure draws out the purulent contents of the lacunae. In this case, the tonsils are washed with an antiseptic solution. As a result, the concentration of the pathogen in the amygdala decreases, which favorably affects the positive outcome of this disease.

To improve the regenerative abilities of tonsil tissues, improve microcirculation in it and increase local immunity, a method of treatment using a laser is used. Laser radiation of a certain intensity allows you to awaken the latent potential of cell activity. As a result, cells become better at working and performing their function. And the function of tonsil cells (lymphoid tissue) is precisely in the fight against pathogens.

Laser therapy has recently been combined with ozone therapy. Ozone inhibits the growth of microbial, fungal and even viral infections. At the same time, ozone itself is well tolerated by the patient's macroorganism.

With the toxic-allergic form of chronic tonsillitis, an operation to remove the tonsils is indicated. Thanks to medical advances, tonsils are now removed almost painlessly and without blood loss. One of the most famous methods is tonsil cryodestruction using a cryoapplicator. A very cold substance is applied to the surface of the tonsils, the surface of which immediately freezes and dies off.

Laser Removing tonsils is now also possible using a laser. This procedure is also painless, accurate and bloodless.

Traditional methods of treating tonsillitis

Recipe number 1

Take 100 g of honey and one tablespoon of raspberry jam, mix and heat on the stove to a boil, stirring occasionally. Then let the mixture cool to the desired temperature and drink it all at once. After that, go to bed and wrap yourself in a blanket, try to fall asleep. According to folk methods, one such procedure is enough to cope with a sore throat.

Recipe number 2

For the second recipe, you need a little kerosene and a cloth. Kerosene is heated to a warm state, after which it is moistened with cloth, which is wrapped around the neck. To preserve heat and secure fixation, a woolen cloth is wrapped around the neck and hold such a compress as much as possible. If after the first procedure the sore throat has not gone away, it can be repeated. But this method cannot be used in children due to the toxicity of kerosene for the child's body.

Recipe number 3

Take one tablespoon of aloe juice, two tablespoons of honey and 3 tablespoons of vodka. Mix everything and make compresses on the neck from this mixture.

Recipe number 4

Take a glass of warm boiled water, add 1/2 teaspoon of soda and salt to it and a few drops (2-4) of iodine. Rinse with angina several times a day.

Recipe number 1

Take one tablespoon of aloe juice and three tablespoons of natural honey, mix. Lubricate the tonsils daily in the morning on an empty stomach for two weeks. After that, for the next two weeks, you can lubricate every other day. This treatment should be carried out several times a year during periods of the most likely exacerbation of the disease. Usually, with such treatment, the number and severity of exacerbations is reduced or they do not appear at all.

Recipe number 2

Gargling with solutions of natural antiseptics (chamomile decoction, alcoholic herbal tinctures, milk with garlic). Such rinses should be started during the change of seasons (autumn-spring period), with a cold snap and with a decrease in the body's defenses. They can be used both during periods of exacerbation and during periods of remission of the disease.
