Instructions for use

Step-by-step instruction:

1. Before installing a test strip, you must check the barcode on the test element vial.
2. To turn on the device, you must insert a test strip into the appropriate port. In this case, remove the device carefully and only with clean hands.
3. You want to compare the codes on your device and the test strip vial. If the codes do not match, you must press the upper or lower button and set the desired values ​​in the corresponding field. Upon completion of the procedure, the screen will display the words "APPLY BLOOD".
4. If the codes match, you must click "Ok".
5. To carry out testing, you need to press the upper key and set the value "APPLY CONT. RED. ". This manipulation must be done before testing.
6. Shake the product before applying the control solution, remove the cap, squeeze out the first drop and remove. Then it is recommended to wipe the dispenser with a clean cloth.
7. Squeeze out the drop so that it hangs.

1. Remove the protective cap from the needle holder. It will not be needed until the end of the procedure.
2. Install the lancing device into the special hole on the pistol grip until it clicks.
3. Remove the cap from the lancet. It is recommended to keep this cap for further disposal of the used needle.
4. Place the cap back on the needle holder. In this case, it is necessary to check that the gap on the pistol grip coincides with the notch necessary to fix the center of the needle.
5. Select the level of the puncture depth and fix with the pull-back handle.
6. Lean the device against the surface of your finger and press the trigger to puncture.
7. Remove the protective cap from the pistol grip and remove the needle.

Test strips

To measure blood sugar, you must use special test strips designed only for Van Touch Select Plus devices. At the same time, no additional settings for encoding testing elements are required.

Recommendations for use:

• Before performing measurement procedures, make sure that the temperature of the test strips and the main unit are the same.
• If moisture (condensation) is present on the surface of the device or test elements, place the device in a clean, dry place.
• We recommend storing test strips in a cool place between 5 and 30 ⁰C.
• It is not recommended to open the packaging with the test plates unless absolutely necessary. The device must be used immediately after removal.
• Once removed, the test strip vial must be tightly closed.
• Store the measuring plates only in the original packaging.
• Do not put a used test strip back into the container.
• Reuse of the test element is not allowed.
• When carrying out the analysis, it is not recommended to use a plate with obvious signs of defects - damage, chips, deformation.
• The device can be used at an altitude of up to 3 km, inclusive, without changing the performance.

Please note that original test strips are used for D-glucose analysis only. In other cases, the device is not able to determine the level of the substance.

How to take a measurement

Van Touch Select Plus has its own characteristics of measuring procedures, and therefore it is recommended to strictly adhere to the established rules for using this meter.

Scheme of actions:

• Remove the cap from the meter with clean hands. To do this, turn the cover counterclockwise.
• Remove the protective cap from the pistol grip.
• Insert the needle into the device and adjust the puncture depth using the rotating element mounted on the device.
• Bring the unit to the finger and make a puncture.
• Remove the test strip from the packaging with clean hands.
• Bring the device to the device and insert it into the corresponding connector (port) so that the side with the contacts faces the front of the meter.
• Bring the device with the fixed strip to the punctured finger so that the blood touches the cross section of the indicator on the plate. If the sample is spreading or smearing, it is recommended to make another puncture.
• Do not allow blood to get on the indicator of the device itself, as this may damage the device.
• Wait until blood fills the area marked on the test strip.
• After measurement, remove the measuring plate from the device and dispose of according to the instructions.

  

When taking a measurement, it is recommended that you wait until the results are displayed before removing the test element from the device, otherwise the meter will turn off. At the end of the procedure, all items must be laid out in appropriate containers with clean hands. In this case, joint storage of items is not allowed.

Disposal

After performing all the necessary manipulations, used needles and test plates should be disposed of according to the established rules, as these items are potentially dangerous.

When disposing of, great care must be taken to avoid contamination of yourself or another person and to avoid direct contact with objects.

Used needles must be tightly closed with a special cover that comes with the tool. Used test plates are placed in a special container for medical waste instruments. All material is disposed of in accordance with the rules of the medical institution or community standards.

After working with the device, it is recommended to thoroughly wash your hands with soap or to treat the surface of your hands with any antiseptic agent.

How to transfer data from the meter to your computer

The Van Touch Select Plus blood glucose meter can be connected to a desktop personal computer, which is necessary for full monitoring of readings. The data from the measuring device can be transferred to a personal computer. This manipulation is required to monitor the dynamics, formulate a diet or take medications related to blood glucose levels.

To transfer data, you need to connect your device to your computer using a USB cable. The other end of the cable should be connected to the instrument port located on the bottom of the device.

After connecting, the device will start to transfer data. The device itself will display information that the personal device is transmitting data. In this case, it will become impossible to carry out any measuring procedures.

After uploading the information, it is recommended to use a special application that compiles a diagram (graph) based on data obtained over the last 7, 14 or 30 days.

Before transferring information, remove the test strip from the main unit, otherwise it may damage the unit or cause an electric shock.

How to transfer data from the meter to a mobile device via Bluetooth Smart

The Van Touch Select Plus blood glucose meter can be connected to a mobile phone using Bluetooth Smart. To track statistical data and measurement indicators, you also need to install special software on your smartphone.

To connect the device to a mobile phone, you must enable the data transfer function via Bluetooth. To turn on the connection on the meter, simultaneously hold down "Ok" and the up key. The function can be disabled in a similar way.

To sync the devices, they must be within 8 m of each other. Download the OneTouch app before pairing.

Connection instructions:

• Switch on the measuring device using the "Ok" button. In this case, the button must be held down.
• Turn on Bluetooth connection on devices.
• Launch the mobile application and follow the instructions.
• In the utility settings, you need to check the last 4 digits of the device serial number. If there is a mismatch, enter the number indicated on the equipment.
• After displaying a request from the program, a 6-digit password will be displayed.
• It is necessary to wait until the end of the confirmation of the successful connection of the devices.
