Omez and De-Nol at the same time. How to use

If the list of medicines prescribed by your doctor contains Omez and De-Nol, this does not necessarily mean that both drugs must be taken at the same time, at the same time. Combined regimens are often used in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and usually give good results. But they must describe the rules and the sequence of application of each tool separately.

Some medications have the ability to suppress or slow down the effectiveness of other medications, so breaks of a few minutes to 2 hours should be taken between medications. The need for separate administration with other medications is usually warned by the annotation to the medicinal product.

Composition and characteristics of drugs

To obtain a therapeutic effect, it is necessary to know the characteristics of the prescribed drugs and how they interact with each other, whether you need to drink them at the same time or observe the intervals between receptions.

Omez and De-Nol should be taken simultaneously with caution and under medical supervision. This is indicated by the official instructions for the use of medicines.

Omez

The drug Omez is available in the form of capsules in an enteric coating (that is, dissolving in the intestine). Capsules can be transparent, translucent and opaque in different colors with a cap of a different shade. The body and cap of the capsules are marked with the Latin letters OMEZ. The capsules contain light yellow or white granules inside. They consist of active and auxiliary substances.

The active ingredient in Omez is omeprazole. This substance belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of proton pump blockers, or agents that inhibit the activity of the stomach glands.

Additional components:

• mannitol - a substance included in the list of vital and essential drugs (VED), an osmotic diuretic - has a moderate diuretic effect;
• crospovidone is a synthetic analogue of povidone, a substance with an enterosorbent effect (intestinal adsorbent);
• poloxamer - emulsifier;
• hypromellose is a viscous substance from the VED category with a softening and lubricating effect;
• other auxiliary components.

The proportion of excipients in the composition of Omeprazole is insignificant, so they do not have any effect on the body.

The active substance is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, reaching a maximum concentration in about 30-60 minutes. Bioavailability (the ability of the drug to be absorbed by the body) increases with constant intake up to 60%, that is, the longer the patient takes the drug, the better it is absorbed. Metabolic products of omeprazole are excreted from the body by the kidneys (about 80%) and intestines (20%).

Omez should be consumed with water, it should be enough for the free movement of the medicine along the esophagus, there is no need to chew the capsule. If it is difficult for the patient to swallow the drug, it is allowed to open the shell and mix the granules with berry puree, juice or simply acidified water. The mixture must be drunk immediately after preparation.

Do not dissolve omeprazole granules in sparkling water or dairy products.

The course of treatment depends on the form of the pathology and the patient's condition and can range from 7 days to 8 weeks or more. The duration of low-dose maintenance therapy should be determined by the attending physician.

In case of an overdose of omeprazole, heart rhythm disturbances, nausea, cephalgia (headache), dryness of the tongue and mouth, drowsiness, blurred vision, confusion are possible. If signs of overdose are found, symptomatic treatment is recommended.

De-Nol

The drug De-Nol is produced in the form of rounded-convex tablets in a light polymer shell and marked on both sides with graphics and an inscription in Latin. The tablets may have a slight ammonia odor.

The active ingredient is bismuth tripotassium dicitrate, a chemical compound belonging to the pharmaceutical group of intestinal disinfectants and diarrhea remedies.

Additional components:

• corn starch - food additive;
• povidone - intestinal adsorbent;
• potassium polyacrylate - sodium salt of polyacrylic acid, superabsorbent.
• macrogol - ethylene oxide, laxative;
• magnesium stearate - a salt of magnesium and stearic acid, a filler for solid dosage forms.

Auxiliary components in the medicine promote better absorption of active ingredients and ensure the solid state of the tablets. They do not have a significant effect on the body. Bismuth is almost not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and leaves the body through the intestines. A small part of bismuth enters the bloodstream, from where it is excreted by the kidneys.

An overdose can cause prolonged use of the drug in an amount that exceeds the optimal dose. As a result, renal function is impaired, which is restored when the intake is discontinued. In severe renal dysfunction caused by bismuth overdose, hemodialysis is recommended.

Action of drugs

Omez belongs to one pharmacological group, and De-Nol belongs to another group of drugs. Therefore, in how to take them at the same time, it is worth understanding the pharmacodynamics (mechanism of action) of both drugs.

Blocks an enzyme that is involved in the synthesis of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Promotes a steady decrease in the daily acidity of the stomach (by 80%). It also has an antibacterial effect against Helicobacter pylori bacteria. It is prescribed for duodenal ulcer or stomach ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), damage to the gastrointestinal mucosa, erosion, peptic ulcer, hypersecretion states. It is effective when used in combined therapeutic regimens aimed at destroying the Helicobacter pylori bacteria.

Antiulcer, antibacterial (against Helicobacter pylori) remedy. It also has an astringent and anti-inflammatory effect. Suppresses the activity of pepsin, increases the resistance of the gastrointestinal mucosa to the effects of this and other enzymes and acidic substances of the stomach. It is prescribed for exacerbation of stomach and duodenal ulcers, especially those caused by Helicobacter pylori, with exacerbation of chronic gastritis and gastroduodenitis associated with bacteria, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), the main manifestation of which is diarrhea, with functional dyspepsia.

Omez and De-Nol should be taken simultaneously to enhance the effect on the secretory activity of the gastrointestinal tract. In what sequence and dosage the intake of these medications is prescribed depends on the individual condition of the patient, the form and stage of the disease.

Joint effect

According to doctors and according to the official instructions for use, it is advisable not to drink De-Nol at the same time with Omez and any other medicines. This reduces its pharmacotherapeutic efficacy. Therefore, if the intake of these drugs is prescribed in the treatment regimen, it is necessary to ensure the time interval between their use. The time difference will allow the body to safely assimilate all medications taken and benefit from the combined effect. The combined reception provides a successful fight against the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, the gradual healing of erosions and ulcers of the stomach and duodenum.

Indications for simultaneous admission

It is recommended to take Omez and De-Nol at the same time as part of the complex therapy of such diseases as:

• stomach and duodenal ulcer;
• gastritis;
• other pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract, especially those associated with the activity of Helicobacter pylori.

The onset of the therapeutic effect usually occurs after several days of joint drug intake. To consolidate the effect, you must drink the full course of drugs prescribed by your doctor.

Contraindications

There are several circumstances in which the use of the drugs in question can bring dangerous consequences or even death. Such circumstances are called contraindications, and they are provided for both Omez and De-Nol.

How to take De-nol and Omez together, doses

In classical treatment regimens for ulcers and other diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, Omez is recommended to be taken 1-2 times a day, and De-Nol - 4 times a day. The annotation to the drug De-Nol says that it should not be drunk at the same time as other drugs. The break between taking other medications and taking food should be at least 30 minutes.

Given these features, doctors recommend the following intake regimen:

1. In the morning, 30 minutes before using De-Nol and 1 hour before breakfast, take an Omez capsule.
2. 30 minutes before breakfast - 1 tablet of De-Nola.
3. The next 2 doses of De-Nol - 30 minutes before meals.
4. 1 hour before dinner - 1 capsule of Omez.
5. 30 minutes before dinner - 1 De-Nola tablet.

If Omez is prescribed 1 capsule per day, it is enough to drink it on an empty stomach in the morning. De-Nol's techniques in this case remain unchanged.

Side effects

When using De-Nol and Omez, undesirable effects may occur, which usually disappear after stopping the intake.

Side effects during therapy with Omez and De-Nol:

• Omez:

1. undesirable manifestations of the skin: itching, rashes, dermatitis, urticaria, hair loss, focal redness from exposure to the sun, other types of erythema (redness).
2. signs of rejection of the gastrointestinal tract medication: bloating and abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, occasionally dry mouth, stomatitis (damage to the oral cavity).
3. central nervous system (CNS): cephalalgia, dizziness, drowsiness, tingling in various areas of the skin and body, rarely - a change in taste.
4. visual system: rarely - loss of clarity of vision.
5. hearing organs: dizziness caused by tinnitus and other disturbances in sound perception.
6. mental reactions: excessive excitability, sleep disturbances, occasionally confusion, aggressiveness, hallucinations.
7. immune disorders: fever, rarely - anaphylactic shock, angioedema.
8. breathing and gas exchange: bronchospasm.
9. liver and biliary tract: hepatitis (jaundice), encephalopathy, liver failure.
10. musculoskeletal and bone tissue: myasthenia gravis and myalgia (weakness and pain in the muscles), painful sensations in the joints.

• De-Nol:

1. allergic manifestations: skin rashes, itching.
2. digestion: nausea, vomiting, frequent stools, constipation.
3. CNS: encephalopathy caused by the accumulation of an active substance in the cells of the central nervous system.

If side effects are found, as well as unusual reactions that are not provided for in the instructions for the drugs, it is necessary to notify the attending physician about this. Despite the warnings, in most cases, both drugs are well tolerated by patients.

If it is necessary to enhance the therapeutic effect of drugs on the pathology of the gastrointestinal tract, it is recommended to combine treatment using drugs that complement each other. As part of combination therapy, Omez (proton pump inhibitor) and De-Nol (bactericidal) can be taken simultaneously. To preserve the therapeutic properties of these drugs, they are used with a time difference of at least half an hour. The exact dosages and regimens of use should be agreed with the attending physician on an individual basis.
