Sinekod syrup for children and adults

Sinekod syrup is intended for children from 3 years old, but can also be taken by adults. It is a thick, colorless transparent liquid with a pleasant taste and aroma of vanilla, packaged in dark glass bottles of 100 or 200 ml. The bottle, measuring cup and detailed instructions are placed in a cardboard box decorated in red colors.

Also, the drug can be produced in the form of drops (for infants from 2 months) or pills (from 6 years of age and older). The price of a syrup in 100 ml ranges from 190 to 220 rubles, 200 ml - from 300 to 340 rubles.

Mechanism of action

Coughing is a defensive response to clear the airways. However, sometimes the receptors perceive the edema of the mucous membrane of the bronchi, larynx, trachea, caused by the inflammatory process, as a foreign body. The result is a dry, debilitating and unproductive cough that does not provide relief.

By supporting the inflammatory process, it:

  • prevents the mucous membrane from returning to normal;
  • can cause muscle pain in the chest and abdomen;
  • leads to hemoptysis, the development of a hernia.

To combat such a cough, Sinekod is used. Absorbed through the walls of the stomach, the active substance of the drug enters the bloodstream, and from there - to the brain and, oppressing the cough center, removes the cough.

Butamirate helps to relax the smooth muscles of the bronchi and their expansion, due to which the air passes more easily through the respiratory tract, and the blood is fully saturated with oxygen. Butamirate is then decomposed into safe components and excreted in the urine.

Indications for use

Sinekod is a syrup for children, reviews of which are mostly positive, has the following indications for use:

  • dry, exhausting, "barking" cough, not accompanied by sputum removal, which is typical for bronchitis, tracheitis, colds in the early stages;Sinecod syrup for children. Cough reviews, instructions, analogs
  • whooping cough;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • some methods of diagnostics of the respiratory tract associated with the need to inject contrast (coloring) substances into them, in particular, bronchoscopy and bronchography;
  • the need for surgical intervention;
  • pre- and postoperative period, when coughing can cause suture dehiscence;
  • cough caused by inhalation of tobacco smoke;
  • a cough that is a symptom of heart or stomach problems.

Contraindications and side effects

Reception of Sinekod should be stopped immediately as soon as sputum begins to drain. In this case, blockage of the cough center will lead to accumulation of mucus in the airways. For the same reason, Sinekod cannot be combined with the intake of expectorant drugs.

There are other contraindications:

  • sensitivity to the components of the product;
  • allergic reaction;
  • for syrup - age up to 3 years (sometimes, after consulting a pediatrician, it is allowed to take medicine by a child from 2 years old);
  • 1st trimester of pregnancy (in the 2nd and 3rd trimester - on the recommendation of a gynecologist);
  • period of breastfeeding;
  • pulmonary bleeding.

It is also undesirable to combine the reception of Sinekod and drugs, the action of which is based on the suppression of the activity of the central nervous system: sleeping pills, sedatives.

If the recommendations for taking the drug are not followed, a number of side effects are possible associated with the presence in the composition of ingredients that, acting on all systems of the body, can cause allergic reaction.

It manifests itself:

  • increased cough;Sinecod syrup for children. Cough reviews, instructions, analogs
  • rashes on the skin;
  • attacks of dizziness;
  • lethargy;

drowsiness or overexcitation of the nervous system;

  • diarrhea;
  • vomiting;
  • sometimes nausea.

Pregnancy and lactation

Many medicines for a woman in a position are prohibited, and Sinekod is one of them - for the first 3 months of pregnancy.

This is due to 2 factors:

  • In the 1st trimester, the embryo is not firmly attached to the wall of the uterus and taking a drug containing alcohol can cause termination of pregnancy.
  • Sinekod is a recently developed drug, and there is little data on its effect on the development of the unborn child, therefore, doctors prefer not to take risks and use other, safe and proven methods of dealing with cough.

Starting from the 13th week (beginning of the 2nd trimester), the question of the possibility and feasibility taking Sinekod is decided by the doctor, having previously estimated:

  • condition of a woman;
  • gestational age;
  • risk to the fetus.

Usually, the expectant mother is assigned the following syrup intake scheme: 3-4 hours each. l. (15 mg) 3 times a day. A time interval of 8 hours is required between receptions.

In the 3rd trimester, the drug cannot have a negative effect on the fetus, but increases the load on the woman's kidneys and liver. In this case, it is important to strictly observe the dosage indicated by the doctor.

It is usually suggested to reduce the single dose to 5 ml, leaving the same number of doses. The preferred form of the drug during pregnancy are drops, which should be taken 1 time in 6 hours, by instilling 25 drops into the throat per dose. You can also use pills, which are taken in the morning and evening, 2 pcs.

The maximum treatment time with Sinekod is a week.

If during this time the cough has not changed its character (remained dry), you should consult a doctor. A pregnant woman should remember: there are a number of requirements aimed at minimizing the risk associated with taking Sinekod.

Do not take the drug:

  • appoint yourself;
  • take in excess of the dose;
  • use together with other drugs that stop the cough reflex;
  • take when side effects appear.

As for the lactation period, the question of the effect of the components of the drug on breast milk and on the condition of the infant is not fully understood. Clinical trials to clarify these issues have not yet been conducted. It is advisable to find a safe replacement for Sinekoda or transfer the child to artificial feeding for the entire duration of treatment.

Childhood use

Sinekod is a syrup for children (reviews indicate that in exceptional cases it is possible to receive a child who is 2 years old), which is prescribed for children from 3 years old.Sinecod syrup for children. Cough reviews, instructions, analogs

It is prescribed to eliminate a dry, painful cough that can cause a baby:

  • chest pain;
  • weakness;
  • headaches;
  • loss of appetite;
  • urinary incontinence;
  • sleep disorders.

The medicine is taken 3 times a day, before meals, the dosage for the appointment depends on the age of the child:

  • from 3 to 6 years old - 5 ml;
  • from 6 to 12 years old - 10 ml;
  • from 12 years old - 15 ml.

For babies aged 2 months to 3 years, Sinekod drops are intended. For more accurate dosing, each package of the medicine has a measuring cap, which must be thoroughly rinsed and dried after each use.

A mother who is going to purchase Sinekod for a baby should take into account that:

  • young children do not always know how to cough up phlegm;
  • their pectoral muscles are weaker, and their sputum is thicker;
  • the child is not always able to accurately describe his feelings.

For these reasons, it is difficult to establish independently whether sputum is leaving or not, and taking Sinekod in case of an error can worsen the patient's condition and slow down the recovery process. The doctor should prescribe the drug and determine the mode of administration, having previously examined the small patient, finding out the cause of the cough and its nature.

Overdose

An overdose of Sinekod can result in:

  • drowsiness;Sinecod syrup for children. Cough reviews, instructions, analogs
  • hypotension;
  • disturbances in the work of the vestibular apparatus and the digestive tract.

With mild symptoms of an overdose in a child, gastric lavage with subsequent intake of activated charcoal can normalize his condition. The expectant mother will need urgent medical attention, since the excess of butamirate negatively affects all the vital organs of the fetus, interfering with their normal functioning and development.

Analogs

Syrups and drugs for children that suppress the cough reflex may differ in composition, mechanism of action, list of indications and contraindications. Reviews indicate that some of them perform the same functions as Sinekod.

Sinekod - syrup for children (reviews indicate that the drug should be stored correctly) can be stored in its original packaging in within 3 years from the date of manufacture at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C and normal humidity in a place protected from sunlight rays.

Care should be taken to keep it out of the reach of the baby, as the sweet taste and aroma of vanilla make it attractive to the baby. It is prohibited to use a syrup that has been stored in conditions that do not meet the manufacturer's requirements or that have expired.

Sinekod, unlike its counterparts, does not have a combined effect, its capabilities are limited to eliminating a dry, painful cough by reducing the activity of the cough center. The drug is not able to act on the very cause of the cough, although it has a mild anti-inflammatory and expectorant effect.

Since there are a number of diseases and conditions in which taking Sinekod syrup can lead to a deterioration in the well-being of children and to many negative consequences, it is necessary to decide on the appropriateness of its application, relying not on reviews on the network, but on recommendations doctor.
