Ointment Uroderm is a medication for external use. The product has a keratolytic effect, softens the epidermis, helps to eliminate hardened skin, prevents the development of pathogenic microflora, activates blood circulation, increases elasticity and improves absorption of other medicinal products funds.
The therapeutic effect of Uroderm is provided not only by the active substance (urea), but also by auxiliary components. Along with its high efficiency, the product stands out at an inflated cost, therefore, if long-term treatment is necessary, dermatologists prescribe cheaper analogues.

Domestic and imported analogues of the product
Uroderm ointment, cheap analogs of which are not inferior in effectiveness, dermatologists prescribe for pathologies that are accompanied by coarsening of the skinas well as its thickening.
If you need to choose a substitute, you first need to find out the reason for the replacement: an allergy to the main component, the presence of contraindications, or a high price. After that, the specialist can choose the right analogue. Further in the article, popular, effective and inexpensive substitutes are presented with a brief comparative characteristic (in terms of composition, action and price).
Apilak grindeks ointment
Uroderm ointment (cheap analogs may be similar in the main component or differ, but have a similar action), the active element of which is urea, can be replaced with Apilak grindeks ointment, made in Estonia and Latvia.
The medicinal effect of the drug is provided by a powder from natural bee milk. The active component of the analogue has the following effect on the skin: it activates metabolic processes in tissues, stimulates cell regeneration and improves their nutrition.
Apilak grindeks and Uroderm ointments are used to eliminate the following skin pathologies:

Limitations for the use of Apilak grindex have the following differences and similarities with Uroderm:
- it is forbidden to use in case of intolerance to the composition. This limitation is typical for both medicines. But since honey (the main substance of the analogue) is a highly allergenic product, the likelihood of developing allergies from the use of Apilak grindeks is higher than when using the original;
- can not be used with insufficient production of hormones by the adrenal glands. The prohibition applies only to Apilak grindex ointment;
- both ointments can be used after the patient reaches 6 months, but only with the permission of a specialist;
- Apilak grindeks and Uroderm are allowed to be used during the period of gestation and lactation, but a doctor's consultation is required first;
- if the patient has severe heart failure, as well as in severe pathologies of the heart and kidneys, the original cannot be used. There are no such restrictions for the analogue;
- both ointments should not be applied to the skin in the presence of deep open wounds.
Additionally, Uroderm ointment is forbidden to be applied to a large area of the skin due to the increased likelihood of side effects.
When using Apilak grindex ointment, the agent should be applied to the affected area 1-2 times within 24 hours (you can fix a bandage over the ointment). The duration of treatment can be from 7 to 60 days. In this case, the original must be applied 2 times within 24 hours. The course lasts until the epidermis is completely restored.
The use of both ointments can only cause the development of an allergic reaction (swelling, itching, redness of the skin). If the drugs are used only externally (that is, according to the rules of use), then the likelihood of an overdose is excluded.
But if the funds were taken orally, then vomiting, diarrhea, and possibly an increase in temperature are noted (for the original, disruption of the kidneys, heart and liver is not excluded).
In case of poisoning with an analogue, it is enough to wash the stomach and take sorbents. And in case of an overdose with Uroderm, in addition to standard manipulations, you may need to go to the hospital. To buy Apilak grindex and Uroderm ointment, a prescription is not needed. Important. To achieve the desired therapeutic effect, both agents should be applied only to cleansed and dry skin.
Sulfur-salicylic ointment
Sulfur-salicylic ointment is produced by domestic and Belarusian companies. The active substances of the analogue (salicylic acid and precipitated sulfur) have antimicrobial, exfoliating and softening effect, and also has an anti-inflammatory effect and normalizes the activity of sebaceous glands.
The therapeutic effect of the remedy is not inferior to the Uroderm ointment, but at the same time the drug is cheaper than the original.
Indications and contraindications for the use of Sulfur-salicylic ointment are not completely similar to Uroderm ointment:

From the above data, it follows that Uroderm, for contraindications, is more accessible than an analogue. When prescribing a substitute, the scheme for applying the ointment and the duration of treatment are similar to the original. That is, the drug must be used 2 times within 24 hours.
The funds should be used until the condition of the epidermis is completely restored. But if allergic reactions are detected (there are no other side effects and the use of ointments), the course of treatment must be discontinued.
Cases of poisoning with Sulfur-salicylic ointment and Uroderm have not been recorded (with external use). If the product is swallowed, gastric lavage and further symptomatic treatment are required. Sulfur-salicylic ointment, like Uroderm, is a free sale product.
Sulfur-salicylic ointment (or Uroderm) should be used in conjunction with other external preparations only in order to enhance the therapeutic effect of the additional agent. If this goal is absent, then an interval of at least 1 hour must be maintained between the application of medications.
Comfoderm with urea
Uroderm ointment (cheap analogs can be both Russian and foreign), dermatologists often replace the hormonal cream Comfoderm M2. The action of the agent is provided by two main components (urea and methylprednisolone aceponate).
These ingredients have: exfoliating, softening and anti-inflammatory properties, and also eliminate the signs of allergies (itching, irritation) and reduce soreness at the site of the epidermis lesion.
The table below shows the similarities and differences between the analog and the original according to indications and contraindications:

When lactating and carrying a child, the use of Uroderm ointment is possible, but after the permission of a specialist. |
general information | Hypersensitivity to the composition |
Comfoderm M2 has a large list of restrictions, since the cream contains a hormonal component, but thanks to this component, the effectiveness of the drug is higher.
Comfoderm M2 cream should be used from 5 days to 3 months (depending on the place of application of the agent and the severity of the pathology). The frequency of manipulations is 1 time per 24 hours. For comparison, Uroderm ointment is allowed to be used for an unlimited time (until the epidermis is completely restored).
There are also differences in side effects. When using the original, only the development of allergies (rash, swelling, redness) is possible.
When using Comfoderm M2 cream, the reaction of the body may be as follows:
- burning, redness, itching and other signs of an allergic reaction;
- increased hair growth on the epidermis;
- violation of skin pigmentation;
- when using the cream for more than 1 month, as well as on a large surface of the skin, the development of atrophy of the epidermis is possible, expansion of capillaries (manifested by a vascular network on the skin), as well as the appearance of purulent rashes and white stripes in the form stretch marks.
An overdose of Comfoderm M2 cream is manifested by the symptoms listed in the last paragraph of adverse reactions.
For comparison, cases of overdose with the original were not recorded. With oral administration of the drug (both analog and Uroderm), poisoning (vomiting, loose stools, fever) is noted, gastric lavage is necessary. With a deterioration in well-being, symptomatic therapy is prescribed. You can buy Comfoderm M2 cream only with a prescription.
Important. The analogue cannot be used in combination with other external drugs, due to the high likelihood of side effects from both drugs. The original, on the contrary, is recommended to be used simultaneously with other external agents to enhance their therapeutic effect.
Linin ointment
Uroderm ointment (analogs are cheap, but effective can be offered by a specialist when prescribing a remedy) can be replaced by the Russian Linin ointment. The main elements of the external medication (zinc oxide and boric acid) have a disinfecting, anti-inflammatory and absorbing effect. Additionally, the ointment reduces swelling and irritation.
The table below shows a list of indications and contraindications for Linin ointment in comparison with Uroderm ointment:

The scheme for using Linin ointment is similar to Uroderm. That is, the product must be applied to the epidermis 1-2 times within 24 hours. It is required to use medications until the skin condition is completely restored.
When using an analogue, sometimes there is a burning sensation, reddening of the epidermis, itching and other signs of an allergic reaction. These symptoms are typical for Uroderm ointment.
Cases of overdose with the original are excluded (for external use), and when using Linin in large quantity and a long period of time, vomiting, the development of diarrhea and the appearance of a rash on skin.
To restore the patient's well-being, it is necessary to cancel the use of the drug. Further, the therapy is symptomatic. When swallowing an analogue, standard manipulations are required, as with Uroderm poisoning. You can buy Linin ointment only with a prescription, unlike Uroderm, which is on sale.
Important. When applying an analogue, it is required to ensure that the product does not get into the eyes. If the ointment gets on the mucous membrane of the eyes, it is necessary to thoroughly rinse the eyes and go to the nearest hospital to an ophthalmologist.
Levomethyl ointment
The Russian analogue Levometil is popular due to its low price and high efficiency. The main substances in the preparation (chloramphenicol and dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine) have anti-inflammatory, moisturizing and antimicrobial action, additionally normalize metabolic and regenerative processes in tissues.
The table below shows the similarities and differences to the indications and contraindications of the analog and the original:

general information |
|
Levomethyl for infectious pathologies is recommended to be used together with a bandage. The duration of treatment and the frequency of manipulations should be clarified with the attending specialist (especially when treating children, as well as during lactation and pregnancy).
If, after applying the product, rashes, swelling, redness and other signs of allergies appear on the skin, the course of treatment must be discontinued. There are no other side effects in Levometil ointment (as in the original).
The likelihood of an overdose with Levomethyl is excluded (for external use). If the product is swallowed, the victim has vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea. The patient needs first aid. Call a doctor if necessary. Levomethyl, like Uroderm, is released freely.
Important. Levomethyl can reduce the antibacterial activity of external agents, therefore, in complex treatment, it is necessary to maintain an interval of at least 1 hour between medications.
