Antifungal varnishes are used only on the recommendation of a dermatologist if the cause of nail deformation is infections caused by pathogenic microflora. The affected areas are covered with the drug in accordance with the permitted dosage and after reading the contraindications.

These professional medicated varnishes, as a rule, are not used in conjunction with a colored coating, however, if necessary, to mask defects, they can be covered with tops.

• Lotseril - transparent varnish based on amorolfine, which must be applied once every 10 days. The drug actively suppresses these types of fungi:

1. yeast fungi;
2. dermatophytes;
3. moldy species;
4. dimorphic fungi;
5. actinomycetes.

The varnish is recommended for use in case of damage to no more than 2/3 of the nail plate, and also used as a prophylaxis. The agent is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream and, when applied externally, is considered relatively safe. A 2.5 ml bottle costs 840 rubles, 5 ml - 1400 rubles.

• Oflomil - varnish, the active substance of which is also amorolfine. This tool is fast-acting: the antimycotic substance penetrates not only into the plate, but also into the nail bed, remains in the cells for up to 10 days, and the fungus begins to be suppressed after the first application. You can use varnish once every 2 weeks, and even less often as a preventive measure. This tool is approved for use as a medical base for decorative varnish. The drug costs 760-790 rubles.
• Exorolfinlac, based on amorolfine, it has an equally wide spectrum of action, but is effective only in the early stages of nail damage. The product can be used as a base for a colored top. The varnish is sold in a set with disposable files, application spatulas and cleaning wipes. The cost of 2.5 ml of the drug is 710 rubles.
• Oflomelide - varnish costing about 900 rubles, rarely found in pharmacies. It is active against all types of fungus, but only helps in the early stages of mycosis.
• Batrafen on the basis of ciclopirox costs 1900 rubles, it is effective against 60 types of fungi and many strains of bacteria, mycoplasmas and Trichomonas. The varnish must be applied to the nail plates daily for the first month, then the intervals between applications increase. The product is not recommended for use in conjunction with decorative varnishes. The cost of the drug is 2416 rubles.

It is advisable to use all therapeutic antifungal nail varnishes at the initial stages of mycoses, when no more than 2/3 of the plate is affected and the lesion has not had time to penetrate deep into the stratum corneum.
