Domestic and imported analogues of the product
Candibiotic, cheap analogues (the price is not an indicator of effectiveness) of which only ENT can be selected and prescribed, is considered drug No. 1, since it has a wide list of actions. In this regard, it is impossible to choose a 100% substitute for this medication.
Further in the article, the most suitable medicinal products are considered in terms of therapeutic effect, their pros and cons, as well as an indicative price range, are indicated.
Otipax
Candibiotic, cheap analogs (the price of drugs depends on the markup produced in the pharmacy) which may differ in composition, is often replaced with French Otipax ear drops.
The leading components of the agent (lidocaine and phenazone) endow the medication with anesthetic, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic action. Also, the drug is involved in liquefying mucus in the ear canal, for easier and faster removal.
Appointments for Otipax and Candibiotics have differences, which are discussed in the table for clarity:
Similarities and differences in indications
Otipax |
|
Candibiotic |
|
General purpose | Development of inflammatory processes (otitis media) in the outer and middle ear. |
Both medicines not only fight inflammation and eliminate the cause of its development, but also quickly relieve the pain symptom.
Moreover, both drugs have a small list of similar contraindications:
- hypersensitivity to the elements of drops;
- damage to the integrity of the tympanic membrane;
- carrying a child and lactation. This limitation is characteristic only for Candibiotic. Otipax is allowed to be used during these periods;
- the patient's age is up to 6 years. The limitation is specific only to the original. Otipax drops have no age restrictions.
Additionally, it should be borne in mind that Candibiotic should be used with caution in patients over 65 years of age.
The drug treatment regimen also has a slight difference, which is presented in the table below:
Name of drops | Single dosage | Multiplicity of manipulations | Duration of therapy |
Otipax | 3-4 drops | 2-3 times in 24 hours | 5-10 days |
Candibiotic | 4-5 drops | 3-4 times knocking | 7-10 days |
The use of an analogue and an original can cause the development of allergies in the form of itching, redness of tissues, skin rash (in this case, the use of drops must be stopped). Also, immediately after the instillation of the solution, there may be a burning sensation and discomfort in the ear canal (these symptoms are permissible, drug withdrawal is not required).
When using drops (Otipax and Candibiotic) topically, overdose cases have not been recorded. If the funds are swallowed, the victim may develop vomiting, abdominal pain, and fever. To normalize the patient's condition, it is recommended to take sorbents. Further treatment is carried out according to the patient's condition.
You can buy Otipax freely, while purchasing the original requires a prescription from a doctor.
Otipax and Candibiotic should not be used for perforation of the membrane, otherwise the drug will penetrate the tissues of the middle ear, this will lead to the development of complications. Also, when using Otipax drops, athletes should take into account that this drug gives a positive result when tested for doping.
Lorotox
Analogue Lorotox (manufacturer Russia) includes 2 main elements (lidocaine and phenazone). The components used have disinfecting, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Enhances the therapeutic properties of the drug, which is part of ethyl alcohol. The medicine is not much inferior to Candibiotics in terms of its therapeutic effect, but at the same time its price is several times cheaper.
When comparing the indications and contraindications for the analogue and Candibiotics, the following differences are noted, presented in the table below:
Comparison of appointments
Lorotox |
|
Candibiotic |
|
Identical data | Inflammation of the middle ear tissue |
Comparison of prohibitions
Lorotox | There are no individual contraindications. Drops can be used from birth, as well as during lactation and carrying a child (in the latter two cases, specialist permission is required). |
Candibiotic |
After 65 years, Candibiotic must be used with extreme caution. |
general information |
|
The rules for using Lorotrox are slightly different from the original. The analogue must be injected into the ear canal in 4 drops about 2-3 times within 24 hours. Duration of treatment is from 5 to 10 days. The dosage and duration of treatment with the original is slightly more (single dosage of 4-5 drops from 3 to 4 times every 24 hours for 7-10 days).
If, after the introduction of drops into the ear canal, the development of an allergic reaction is noted (for example, itching, swelling or rash), then the use of Lorotrox must be discontinued. A temporary feeling of a slight burning sensation, irritation (due to alcohol) or redness of the ear tissues is normal and does not require discontinuation of treatment. The listed data are also typical for the original.
With local use of drops Lorotox and Candibiotic, the likelihood of an overdose is excluded.
But if any of the medications is taken orally, then the victim may start vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Gastric lavage is recommended (if no more than 30 minutes have passed after swallowing the drops) and the use of sorbents. If the patient's well-being worsens, emergency aid should be called.
Lorotox, unlike the original, can be bought without a prescription. Important. Both types of drops cannot be used in combination with other ear products. The interval between applications should be at least 30 minutes. The substitute contains a substance that can give a positive reaction to doping.
Sofradex
Candibiotic, cheap analogs (the price of funds can be clarified by both a doctor and a specialist in a pharmacy) which differ mainly in composition, can be replaced with Indian drops of Sofradex.
The similarity of the therapeutic action with the original provides a multicomponent composition, which includes 2 antibiotics (gramicidin C and framycetin) and a hormonal substance (dexamethasone).
The main elements of the drops have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and antihistamine effects. Alcohol, which is part of the drug, enhances the listed medicinal properties.
The list of indications for the appointment of Sofradex drops is identical to the original and includes the points:
- otitis media in acute or chronic form (external and middle ear);
- swelling of the ear tissues caused by an allergic reaction;
- in the postoperative period (during ENT operations), in order to accelerate the recovery process and prevent the penetration of pathogenic microflora into the tissues.
Contraindications to the use of an analogue have significant differences and are listed in the table below:
Differences and similarities in prohibitions
Sofradex |
|
Candibiotic |
|
Identical data |
|
The treatment regimen with Sofradex drops is different when compared with the original. An analogue is required to inject 2-3 drops into each ear canal 3 to 4 times a day. The duration of therapy is 5-7 days. For comparison, Candibiotic needs to be instilled in 4-5 drops from 3 to 4 times a day. Duration of treatment is 7-10 days. That is, the original is required for the course of treatment more than the analogue.
When comparing side effects, the original is less safe, since its use can cause only a burning sensation or irritation in the ear canal, less often allergic reaction.
When using Sofradex, the development of the negative reaction described below is possible:
- allergy symptoms (swelling, redness of the skin);
- a slight burning sensation in the ear canal;
- increased intraocular pressure;
- the accession of a viral or fungal pathology due to a decrease in immunity.
When using Sofradex or Candibiotic in a large dosage (topically), the likelihood of an overdose is excluded. But with oral use of the original, the development of poisoning is not excluded, in contrast to the analogue, which rarely causes an overdose even when the drug is swallowed. Sofradex is a hormonal antibiotic, so it is impossible to buy drops without a prescription.
Important. The analogue is forbidden to be used simultaneously with antibiotics, both local and oral administration. A course of treatment with a substitute for more than 7 days can cause a strong weakening of the immune system.
Normax
The Indian analogue Normax, the main element of which is norfloxacin, has an antimicrobial effect, and also helps to eliminate tissue swelling and inflammatory processes in them. When compared with Candibiotic, the list of therapeutic actions is much smaller, but the effectiveness of the drug does not decrease from this.
The table below contains lists of indications and contraindications for Normax in comparison with the original:
Similarities and differences in readings
Normax |
|
Candibiotic | Swelling of the ear canals caused by an allergic reaction. |

general information |
|
The rules for using an analogue have significant differences from Candibiotic. The substitute should be injected 2 drops into the ear up to 5 times within 24 hours. The treatment continues until the tissues are completely restored (it is allowed to use up to 2 months). It is forbidden to use the original for more than 10 days, while passing through the ear should be instilled 4-5 drops from 2 to 3 times a day.
With the topical application of Normax, the development of allergies is not excluded (the drug must be canceled), as well as a feeling of irritation and discomfort in the ears (treatment must be continued). These characteristics are completely identical to the original.
When using a substitute (topically) in increased doses, the likelihood of an overdose is excluded, as with Candibiotic. But if the drops are taken orally, then there is profuse vomiting, severe headaches, and causeless anxiety appears.
It is necessary to urgently flush the stomach with plenty of water. Further, treatment is selected according to the condition of the victim. If you feel worse, it is recommended to call emergency help. In comparison, poisoning with the original can only cause vomiting and diarrhea, in rare cases of abdominal pain. Normax can only be bought with a prescription.
Important. Normax for advanced ear pathologies is recommended for use in complex treatment with antimicrobial medicines.
Prices
