Pharmacological action
The main active ingredient Ultrafastin gel is ketoprofen, which has a pronounced analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect.
The drug is able to reduce the active effects of cyclooxygenases( enzymes involved in the production of prostanoids).This reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins - biologically active substances that play a leading role in the mechanism of development of pain.
Ketoprofen is able to:
- inhibit the release of enzymes isolated from the lysosomes into the extracellular space;
- to reduce the oxygen exchange of neutrophilic granulocytes;
- to slow the migration of cells responsible for the immune response - macrophages;
- reduce the activity of the inflammatory mediator - bradykinin.
All these pharmacological actions lead to a decrease in the movement of cells of the immune system into the articular membrane, resulting in the formation of cellular filtrates.
Pharmacokinetics of
The ultrafastin gel perfectly penetrates into the subcutaneous space, rendering it anti-inflammatory and penetrating to the nerve endings - an analgesic effect.
The basis of the kinetic regularity of the biochemical processes that occur with the drug in the human body is the rapid absorption and distribution of the active component. Relief can be felt by the patient a few minutes after the application of the gel.
The speed of the drug depends on the thickness of the skin and fat layers, the saturation of the flow of circulating blood into the affected area.
Mechanism of action
The drug Ultrafastin has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. The drug inhibits the activity of cyclooxygenases( cyclooxygenases are enzymes that suppress the formation of fatty acid deposits), resulting in a decrease in the synthesis of prostaglandins, which play a major role in the pathogenesis of inflammation and pain.
The mechanism of anti-inflammatory action of ketoprofen is not fully understood. It is known only that it reduces the oxygen metabolism of neutrophils and the release of lysosomal enzymes, inhibits the migration of macrophages and shows anti-bradykinin activity.
Properties of this type allow to reduce the second phase of the inflammatory reaction by reducing the migration of macrophages and granulocytes into the synovial membrane and the formation of cellular filtrates.
After external application, the concentration of ketoprofen at the site of application is similar to the concentration when applied orally.

Ultrafastin gel is used in the following cases: 
- post-traumatic pain syndrome;
- inflammation of the tendons;

The gel has some features that prevent its use in the following conditions and situations:
- increased susceptibility( i.e., allergic reaction) to anti-inflammatory non-steroid agents;
- presence of open wounds, infected abrasions, burns, eczematous dermatitis, infectious inflammation of the skin;
- pregnancy and active lactation;
- age of children under 15 years old.
Instruction for use
A small amount of gel is squeezed out onto the index and middle finger. With fingers massaging the ointment is rubbed on the problem area of the body.
With regard to dosage, the amount of the drug used is unlimited( within reasonable limits), therefore, it is impossible to obtain an overdose.
The use of the drug in no way will affect patients with impaired liver and kidney function. Also, Ultrafastin gel is compatible with other drugs and alcohol, it does not cause side effects.
