Mastopathy is a benign disease of the breast, manifested by the pathological growth of its tissues.
Mastopathy is usually associated with some other gynecological diseases or with hormonal disorders.
Mastopathy is the most common breast disease. On its background, other breast tumors may grow:
- intra-intralesional papillomatosis;
- fibroadenoma.
Fibrous-ferruginous mastopathy often results from stress and neurological disorders. Therefore, the main way to treat the disease is psychotherapy.
Symptoms of fibrotic glandular mastopathy
Symptoms of the disease are as follows:
- chest pain( especially before menstruation);
- irradiation of pain in the armpit or shoulder;
- discharge from the mammary glands( colostrum);
- symmetry of the disease in both breasts;
- appearance in the mammary glands of hard seals.
Prevention of fibrotic glandular mastopathy
With prophylaxis, all women every six months should undergo ultrasound of the breast.
Women who are forty years old must undergo a mammogram if they suspect breast pathology after ultrasound.
It is also necessary to perform the following actions:
- to carry out proper breast care during the period of feeding;
- undergo an examination with a gynecologist during pregnancy;
- is rationally protected( carefully select contraceptives);
- to avoid situations in which abortion is necessary;
- in time to undergo treatment of gynecological( and other endocrine) diseases.
If you are diagnosed with fibro-glandular mastopathy, be sure to consult a gynecologist. This needs to be done, since the diseases of the mammary glands are closely related to the violations of the hormonal balance.
Treatment of fibrotic glandular mastopathy
Treatment is aimed at regulating intrasecretory functions of the mammary gland, suppressing the growth of glandular tissue, eliminating genital organs diseases.
To relieve pain, it is recommended to undergo physiotherapy sessions: electrophoresis with potassium iodide and novocaine.
Microdoses of iodine( aqueous solution of potassium iodide) are prescribed during the intermenstrual period to prevent tissue growth in the breast.
The full course of treatment is one year.
This course of treatment is especially effective in those situations if the cause of mastopathy is the follicular cysts of the ovaries producing a large number of estrogen( female sex hormones).
The therapeutic effect is achieved in the case of testosterone( male sex hormone).
If there is insufficient production of progesterone( the second female sex hormone), then its additional injection may be necessary.
