Not everyone knows what sexology is and what this science includes.

So, sexology is the field of scientific knowledge and research about the sexual life of a person .Introduction to sexology begins even with ancient mythological systems, such as "Kama Sutra", "The Art of Love", "Peach Branches", etc. These treatises on love contain not only the moral and religious norms of sexual life, but also a wealth of knowledge in psychologyand human biology.

To investigate the problems of the sexes began in the Renaissance, when scientists approached the question of physiology and anatomy of a person closely. Social and psychological norms of sexuality were investigated, they were examined in different social sciences.

Later, when the well-known female question was sharpened, the scientists began to study some of the economic and social aspects of the relationship between men and women in the bourgeoisie, this included the study of prostitution.

At the beginning of the twentieth century, scientists began to search for the biological norm of human sexuality

.The only function of the normal level of sexuality was procreation of the human race. Masturbation was declared a moral vice, as well as a disease.

The prominent scientist Freud played an important role in the reorientation. He focused on the psychological processes of the individual, as well as the forms of sexuality.

At the moment, sexology is a complex of different studies that have controversial results, but also significant victories. The modern branch of this science is based on three aspects:

  • biologic-medical factor;
  • psychological;
  • is a socio-historical one.

The biologic-medical factor is based:

  1. on biological sex factors;
  2. on the influence of sex hormones on the behavior and psyche of a person;
  3. on detailed characteristics of sexual acts.

The socio-historical aspect relates to the study of specific social functions and forms of activity for each gender.
This factor includes studying how the system of sexual roles affects the mind and behavior of a person. This includes:

  • a generalization of the mass information regarding the attitudes of morality;
  • value orientations of people's sexual behavior, taking into account age, social, property, class, and professional characteristics.

The psychological aspect includes the multifunctionality of human sexuality, without regard to which, the problem of sexual satisfaction of a person can not even be discussed.
