Among the latter most commonly found colon cancer .It grows from the mucosa of the colon and develops in the places of its bends. Symptoms of cancer do not differ much from the symptoms of other diseases. Pain in the abdomen, not associated with eating, decreased appetite, unilateral bloating. Sometimes there is intestinal obstruction and bleeding. Cancer is treated only by surgical intervention.
If there are multiple protrusions of the mucosa on the walls of the colon, this indicates a diverticular disease. Diverticula appear in places where the resistance of the intestinal wall is the least. Most often they are formed in the left side of the colon. It is interesting that the disease is not always accompanied by pain in the abdomen. Quite often this disease is complicated by bleeding due to rupture of the vessels near the diverticulum. In most cases, these bleedings are insignificant and end on their own. But if the bleeding is massive, it can end even fatal.
Treatment of the disease begins with intensive care. Patients whose bleeding stopped without the intervention of doctors, do not always have to be treated with surgery. But if the bleeding does not stop, this is a serious reason for the operation. And some of these operations take place without a preliminary full examination, which often leads to deaths.
