Usually, 3 days are enough to relieve the symptoms of a mild form of the disease, but in severe cases, it will take up to 6 days of treatment, and the dose can be increased to 1 g per day.
Other diseases provoked by microorganisms sensitive to the active substance	For many diseases of internal organs of bacterial origin, the initial daily dose is 1 g. It is divided into 2 doses, that is, they take 1 tablet in the morning and in the evening, observing an equal interval.

The tablets are taken 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after consumption. It is important to drink plenty of water and take approximately equal time intervals between drinks.

In capsules

Azithromycin for children (the dosage of the drug in the form of capsules may differ from the tablet form) in the form of capsules is also used only after patients reach 14 years of age. In this case, the patient's body weight should be at least 45 kg. The dosage of the capsule can be 250, 500, 1000 mg. Each patient can choose the optimal dose depending on the symptomatology of the pathology.

Patients with a mild form of the disease are prescribed 500 mg per day. Patients can take 1 capsule 500 mg or 2 capsules 250 mg. In the second case, the dose can be divided into 2 doses during the day. The duration of use rarely exceeds 3 days. As in the case of prescribing tablets, capsules are best taken before meals or 2 hours after taking them. It is better to drink the product with water, since other drinks can disrupt the absorption of components in the digestive tract.

Severe stages of the pathological condition are treated for 5-6 days. In rare cases, the course is extended up to 10 days, if a pronounced effect is not observed. The dose of the drug is 1000 mg. In this case, it is allowed to take 4 capsules of 250 mg or 2 capsules of 500 mg. In the first and second cases, the dose is divided into 2 doses with equal time intervals.

Suspension

To obtain a suspension, you must first add chilled boiled water to the bottle with the powder up to the mark on the bottle. After that, it is necessary to wait for dissolution. The resulting suspension is taken orally in a specific specialist dose. It is only necessary to store the finished product in the refrigerator for 7 days.

5 ml of the finished suspension contains 200 mg of the active substance. The dose is determined individually, depending on the patient's weight. 1 kg of body weight accounts for 10 mg of the active substance. That is, 5 ml of the drug is taken by children weighing 20 kg. There is no standard dose for every child because the weight of the patients is different. The suspension is not prescribed for children weighing less than 5 kg.

The duration of therapy also depends on the specific disease:

• In the acute course of respiratory diseases, treatment is continued for no longer than 3 days. During this period, the child receives daily the amount of suspension that corresponds to his weight. Reception is carried out once a day, the dose is usually not divided into several times during the day.
• In chronic diseases in the acute stage, therapy can be continued for 5 days. In this case, the dose can be reduced to 5 mg per 1 kg of body weight. This is enough to achieve a pronounced therapeutic result. Repeated courses are carried out after 6 months if the symptoms worsen again.
• The advanced stages of the disease are treated within 7-10 days. The dose for a child per day does not exceed 10 mg per 1 kg, is determined by the pediatrician individually after examination. Sometimes doctors allow a dose to be given in 2 divided doses during the day.

  

The suspension has a pleasant sweet taste and aroma. Usually children do not refuse to use it. As in the case of prescribing tablets, capsules, you should not take the product in liquid form on an empty stomach. This can provoke complications from the organs of the digestive tract.

It is forbidden to exceed the daily rate, especially in the treatment of children under 3 years of age. Antibiotic prescription is done only by a pediatrician.
