How does the allergy look like in children
It is very important to understand what an allergy looks like, so as not to engage in self-medication from an unknown ham.
Often, allergies can be confused with scabies or fungal diseases. Although, maybe the other way around: chickenpox or urticaria may be taken as a manifestation of an allergic reaction.
The most common allergy is confused with urticaria: the external manifestations of them are very similar.
If skin allergic irritation occurs on parts of the body that have come into contact with the allergen, then obviously it can be a case of contact dermatitis caused by household chemicals, cosmetics or metals.
If the urticaria begins to develop immediately after direct contact with the substance-allergen, then contact dermatitis begins to appear only after a few weeks.
The main external signs of allergy in contact dermatitis:
- redness of the skin;
- the appearance of blisters on the inflamed part of the body;
- permanent itching.
In order to achieve a positive result in treatment, it is necessary first to detect the allergen, and then to cut off all contacts with it.
Allergy can be caused even by cold. In this case, the allergy is called cold dermatitis.
With this disease, the following symptoms are observed:
- the body surface is stained;
- skin peels and itches.
There are still many signs of the appearance of allergies, when skin reactions are not detected or expressed very poorly. For example, a sign of an allergy may be tearing, redness of the eyes or allergic conjunctivitis.
In case when the allergy resembles a swelling( lips, cheeks, eyelids), you can talk about Quincke's edema. By the way, the Quincke's edema can cause swelling of the larynx and lead to suffocation. Quincke's edema can be called a skin reaction, only deeper, leading to subcutaneous tissue damage.
The manifestation of an allergy may be rhinitis( runny nose) that occurs when contacts:
- with dust;
- pollen of plants;
- spores of fungi.
Allergic rhinitis is usually accompanied by sneezing, coughing and itching.
Even when you know for sure how an allergy can look, you should remember for ever that in any case you should consult a doctor, as soon as he is able to pinpoint the nature of your disease and prescribe the correct course of treatment.
