Neurological disorders among congenital anomalies occupy a significant place. One of these disorders is Mobius syndrome, a complex of symptoms, characterized, first of all, by the lack of mimic reactions.

About the main syndrome
This is a rare, poorly understood disease. It is detected in one of the 30,000 newborns. It was first described in the XIX century and since then it has been systematically studied, but it has not been possible to fully reveal the causes of the disease.

Symptoms and Diagnosis
The most characteristic symptom of Mobius syndrome is the absence of facial expressions.
Other symptoms that make it possible to clarify the diagnosis include:
- body structure anomalies;
- complete or partial dysphagia( inability to swallow), difficulty sucking;
- is often added to the symptoms of decreased intelligence, nevertheless, the intellect in patients with Mobius syndrome may be normal.
Infants with a syndrome are difficult to feed, they are also difficult to care for, as often they have to guess their desires. Before eliminating the symptoms of the disease, they require additional care in a hospital.
Diagnosis of a violation, usually in a short time after birth. The diagnosis can be established only by the doctor on the basis of available data on the symptoms of the disease. Usually, additional procedures for diagnosis are not required.
What can modern medicine?
The disease is difficult to treat and is not completely cured, because even now its mechanism has not been studied in sufficient detail. 
Nevertheless, in modern healthcare it is possible to partially reduce the symptoms and many times to alleviate the fate of the patient.
Both symptomatic treatment of Moebius syndrome and surgical intervention are performed. To reduce the severity of symptoms, correction of strabismus is used, logopedic work is carried out to improve pronunciation.
Surgical intervention helps to significantly reduce the severity of pathology. For treatment, the patient's muscles are taken( most often these are the femoral muscles) and are transplanted onto the face. After such an operation, the patient gets the opportunity to partially express his facial expressions and fully connect his lips.

Mobius-Poland syndrome
Often, patients with Möbius syndrome have signs of Poland syndrome.
Poland syndrome is characterized by the following developmental defects: absence of pectoral muscle, lack of nipple, rib defect, finger fusion. In the affected area, usually very thin skin without a fat layer.
Sometimes there are defects in the development of the spine. The bones of the ribs are often shifted to the side or up, occasionally there is no hair covering in the underarm area( in adults).
Treatment of the syndrome requires surgical intervention, priche operation is rarely one. The disease is treatable.
In modern conditions it is possible not only to cope with the disease, but also to warn it. This requires timely examination of the development of the fetus, a complete rejection of all bad habits and proper nutrition.
