Ointment Nayatoks refers to locally irritating agents. The drug has a distracting effect, due to which an analgesic effect is achieved.
When applied to the skin, its active ingredients irritate the afferent receptors, as a result, active components such as histamine, enzymes, organic acids are adsorbed, blood vessels expand, the tissues supply normalizes, resulting in a painful syndrome.
The mechanism of action is determined by the ingredients of the drug:
- The venom of the cobra contains the substance orphiotoxin, which, according to the analgesic effect, is superior to morphine, but does not induce psychic
and physical dependence. In addition, orfiotoksin removes inflammatory phenomena. Cobra venom prevents blood coagulation, dilates blood vessels, speeds up the metabolism of substances, eliminates cramps and spasms. At the same time, it does not adversely affect erythrocytes and leukocytes. - Eucalyptus oil promotes rapid healing of damaged tissues. The main substance of eucalyptus oil is cineole, which also eliminates inflammation and pain.
- Camphor has an analgesic and locally irritating effect.
- Methyl salicylate has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect.

Treatment with ointment for special patients
Nyatox ointment should not be used in children younger than 6 years of age, as there is no information on the safety of prescribing in this age group. In adolescence, ointment can be used on the recommendation of a doctor, in which case the treatment course is selected individually.
It is not necessary to use ointment for women while waiting for the baby, as clinical trials for pregnant women are prohibited and there are not enough data proving the safety of such patients. It is only known that in the systemic circulation, methyl salicylate is spread throughout the body, penetrates the placental barrier and can have a negative effect on the fetus, which will lead to the birth of a sick child.
