The drug contains amoxicillin, a substance from the penicillin group. It is an antibiotic and is of semi-synthetic origin. Its main task is to fight against pathogenic bacteria inside the body, slowing down their growth and spread.

Therefore, bactericidal properties are attributed to amoxicillin. Depending on the version of the drug, from 250 to 875 mg of the component is used per tablet.

To enhance the effect of a substance in the production of a medication, clavulanic acid is used. This element has an antibacterial effect and inhibits the activity of beta-lactamases. Together with amoxicillin, they contribute to the rapid destruction of harmful microorganisms, so that the treatment process does not drag out for a long time.

Indications for use

Amoxiclav, analogs in tablets of which are not inferior to him in high efficiency, are used exclusively as directed by a doctor. Traditionally, the drug is used to treat diseases that are infectious in nature and were provoked by bacteria that are sensitive to active ingredients.

An antibiotic is prescribed for the following diagnoses:

  • odontogenic infections;
  • sexually transmitted diseases (chlamydia, gonorrhea);
